My encounter with the Brussels II revised convention, which is the European version of the Hague Convention, began in August 2005. Since then, I have become increasingly aware of the inhumanity of these international laws. Whilst these laws do help some people and do achieve some good, they have many loopholes which probably cause atleast as much misery as they were designed to save.

I believe, along with many others, that it is time to change them so that they do not infringe on Human Rights and, particularly, on the Rights of the Child as defined in the 1989 Convention.

In order to achieve change, we must highlight the injustice, and I hope that those affected are able to use this website to talk about their experiences.
